Sheriff Eric Garza was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. Started serving Cameron County since 1991 as a Deputy County Clerk.

Looking for self-improvement, he graduated from TSC-UTB Police Academy as a Licensed Texas Peace Officer.

Sheriff Garza joined the Cameron County Sheriff's Office in 2021 and he is strongly motivated to improve the office and continuously strives to ensure it is running efficiently while providing the best customer service possible.

Family oriented and proud father, he is also a strong supporter of community involvement promoting the office by attending school career days and community events across Cameron County.

Due to his innovative desire, offices where he has worked have received several awards highlighting those achievements.
